Since January 1, 2016 ANIS has become AMICUS. Since then, owners who have never had a dog before must register with their municipality in order to receive a personal Amicus ID. For holders who have already had a dog, they keep their old ANIS ID in AMICUS, which in principle becomes the new AMICUS Personal ID.
General procedure:
1. The holder goes to his municipality and checks that he has a personal AMICUS ID and that his registered data is up to date.
2. The holder then goes with his personal ID and his dog to his veterinarian.
3. The veterinarian identifies the new dog with the microchip and links the microchip number to the personal ID in AMICUS.
Remark :
When the acquired dog comes from abroad, the new owner must go within 10 days to register his dog with a veterinarian. In all cases, the new owner of the dog must inform the municipality and the prefecture of the presence of his animal in his new home.
Exceeding this period is a violation of the law and the ordinance on epizootics under penalty of a fine of CHF 180.—
Adopting an animal contributes to our physical and mental well-being. Are you about to take the leap?
